This recipe for meatloaf is mostly about the presentation rather than the preparation. Meat loaf is pretty basic to make, ground meat, egg, bread, salt and pepper. I think that the presentation of this meatloaf is great though. I added Homemade Mash Potatoes and canned peas, and it made a really tasty weeknight dinner.  Just to spruce it up, I topped the meatloaf with my BBQ Sauce for Ribs.

  • 1 1/2 lb ground beef or ground beef veal and pork
  • 1/2 medium Spanish onion finely chopped
  • 1 whole egg
  • 2-3 slices stale day old baguette or burger buns
  • 1 tbspn Worcestershire sauce
  • kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
Servings: people
  1. Gather all ingredients before starting recipe.
  2. Pre heat oven to 375°
  3. Soak bread under running water, squeezing the water out of the bread. When the bread has been soaked and the water squeezed out, add to a mixing bowl.
  4. Combine remaining meat loaf ingredients in the same medium mixing bowl. Using your hands, combine all of the ingredients to make sure that they are evenly distributed and well blended.
  5. Spread the meat loaf mixture on the mini sheet pan, leveling it so that it has the same thickness throughout.
  6. Top the meatloaf with my prepared BBQ Sauce for Ribs, or another prepared BBQ sauce.
  7. Bake in a pre heated oven for 45 minutes, or until the meat loaf is bubbling and the topping has nicely browned.
  1. Serve with Homemade Mash Potatoes and canned peas.
