Tip : I have included links to recipes for chicken only. I know that this char sui sauce would work equally well with pork, pork belly and duck, but the cooking times would have to be altered to consider the length of time to braise each of these to make them tender.

Instructions
Gather all ingredients before starting recipe.
Combine 2 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tsp kosher salt, 1/2 tsp five spice powder, 1/4 tsp white pepper, 1 1/2 tbsp hoisin sauce, 1 tbsp Mirin, 2 tsp soy sauce, 1/2 tsp roasted sesame seed oil, 2 cloves grated garlic1 tbsp ketchup, 1 tbsp honey and 2 tbsp water in a small saucepan. Mix with a wire whisk until completely combined.
Bring mixture to a simmer cook for about 5 minutes. Set aside until ready to use.
