Grenadir Mars (Grenadier Marsh)

Ingredients 

  • 1 medium baking potato peeled and cut into 1/2" cubes
  • 3 nests tagliatelle
  • 1-2 large shallots peeled and finely sliced or 1/2 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 lb smoked bacon cut into lardons (or thickly sliced bacon cut into 1/2" pieces)

Instructions

  • Gather all ingredients before starting the recipe.
  • Peel and dice 1 medium baking potato, cover with water in a medium sauce pan and bring to a boil. Cook for 15 minutes or until the potatoes are tender, drain and reserve.
  • Dice 1/2 lb smoked bacon into lardons or into 1/2" dice and add to a medium frying pan over medium heat. Cook until the bacon starts to get a golden color, about 5-6 minutes.
  • Peel and slice 1-2 large shallots and add to the bacon and fry until the bacon, shallots/onion is lightly browned.
  • Cook 3 nests tagliatelle according to package directions, and drain. Add boiled potatoes and pasta to bacon, onion/shallot mixture and toss to combine well.
