I always feel that a set table looks bare without a centerpiece. This was just part of entertaining for decades. In fact, making a flower run to the ‘three stores’ on Avenue Road or the florist on Bayview Avenue was part of the plan for dinner parties. I will dig out some old photos and include them in a special post regarding the more formal days soon…
But, in the meantime, things are changing and the arrangements that I used to make for dinner parties seem a little out of touch with the ‘casualness’ everyone is seeming to move toward. It begs the question, do people still make centerpieces?
That’s the question I recently posted alongside an arrangement of fresh lemons in a blue and white bowl. This centerpiece was for Sunday Brunch with friends.
