Everyone has such busy schedules that sometimes the only time to get together is a weeknight, so a little thought has to go into a nice ‘do ahead’ casual meal. In this case, juggling between a bunch of activities (I’m not complaining) but still….

I wanted something that would not suffer by being made ahead and certainly seemed as it just came off the stove.

I mostly got it right, but then I had to try a new dessert and of course the table needed something in the middle because it was so bare.
