This is a simple and delicious brown sauce for just about any type of beef, and even as a sauce over French Fries. I particularly like it with Yorkshire Tidbits served in a huge Yorkshire Pudding.

  • 1 tbspn all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbspn unsalted butter
  • 1 tbspn liquid beef concentrate
  • 1 cup beef broth

  1. Gather all ingredients before starting recipe.
  2. Melt butter over medium heat in a small sauce pan and when the butter melts, add 1 tablespoon of flour and stir to combine.
  3. Keep stirring until the butter, flour mixture turns the color of peanut butter.
  4. Remove sauce pan from heat and stir in 1 tablespoon of beef concentrate, then add 1 cup of beef broth, return to heat and stir with a wire whisk until the sauce is smooth.
  5. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-10 minutes until the sauce thickens.
