Brush the ham with the Brown Sugar Glaze every 15 minutes to get this beautiful mahogany color! Save the pan juices and combine with the left over glaze for a delicious sauce to serve on the side.
Ingredients
- 3-4 lb bone in smoked ham
Brown Sugar Ham Glaze
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 tspn fresh ground black pepper
Instructions
Gather ingredients before starting recipe.
- Remove ham from refrigerator one hour before baking.
Brown Sugar Ham Glaze
- Combine all glaze ingredients in a small sauce pan, bring to a boil, then reduce to a slow simmer. Cook for about 20 minutes, then just keep warm.
Ham
- Pre heat oven to 325 °F
- Score ham, 1" diamonds.
- Place ham in a roasting pan, add about 1/2 cup water.
- Baste ham with brown sugar glaze and set on the middle rack of a pre heated oven.
- Bake for 1.5 hours and baste with glaze every 15-20 minutes. Add more water to pan if it looks dry.
- Pour pan juices into pan with glaze and stir to combine.
- Rest ham for 15-20 minutes, slice and serve with sauce on the side.
