Wasabi Salmon Tartare is delicious! It is light, slightly tangy from the wasabi and it gets lots of texture and flavor from the Granny Smith apples. A perfect appetizer or lunch dish.
Ingredients
- 6 oz skinless salmon cut into 1/4" cubes
 - 1 small granny Smith apple cut into cubes the same size as the salmon
 - 1/2 lime juiced
 - 1 tsp light soy sauce
 - 1 tsp toasted sesame seed oil
 - kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
 - 2 tbsp prepared Wasabi Sauce
 - 3-4 sprigs finely chopped fresh dill
 
Wasabi Sauce from Scratch
- 2 tbsp Kewpie mayonnaise or Hellman's Real Mayonnaise
 - 1 tsp wasabi paste
 
Garnish
- fresh pea sprouts
 
Instructions
Gather all ingredients before starting the recipe.
- Peel 1 small granny Smith apple and cut into 1/4" dice, add 1/2 lime juiced and toss in a small bowl to combine.
 - Cut 6 oz skinless salmon into strips and then into 1/4" inch dice. Transfer to the bowl with the apples.

 - If you make your own wasabi sauce, mix 2 tbsp Kewpie mayonnaise (or Hellman's real mayonnaise) with 1 tsp wasabi paste, 1 tsp light soy sauce and 1 tsp toasted sesame seed oil and mix to combine, Or...If you use the prepared Wasabi Sauce, mix the prepared sauce 1 tsp light soy sauce and 1 tsp toasted sesame seed oil and stir to combine.
 - Add wasabi sauce to salmon and apples a little at a time and gently fold to combine. Season with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper and add 3-4 sprigs finely chopped fresh dill and toss gently.
 - Fill a 3" ring mold with the tarter mixture. Garnish with fresh pea sprouts and add drops of wasabi sauce around the tartare. Serve with Chinese wonton noodles.
