Everyone knows how to make a Greek Salad but sometimes it’s just good to be reminded of the ingredients. I served this Greek salad recently with my Skewer-less Greek Souvlaki, a perfect pairing.

Tip : If you don't like the raw taste or smell of the onion, place the sliced onion into a small dish and cover in either red or white vinegar. The vinegar will remove both but leave the onion crunchy.

Ingredients 

  • 1 medium tomato quartered
  • 1/2 medium English cucumber sliced into 1" slices, then quartered
  • 1/2 green bell pepper cut into 1/2" dice
  • 1/2 red onion thinly sliced
  • 10-12 whole Kalamata olives pitted
  • 1/3 lb feta cheese

Salad Dressing

  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp dried oregano flakes
  • 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • kosher salt and black pepper

Instructions

Gather ll ingredients before starting the recipe.

  • Combine 1 medium tomato quartered, slice 1/2 medium English cucumber into 1/2" slices, chop 1/2 green bell pepper into medium dice, thinly slice 1/2 red onion on a mandolin and add 10-12 whole Kalamata olives to a salad bowl.
  • Mix 3 tbsp olive oil, 2 tsp dried oregano flakes and 1 tbsp red wine vinegar in a jar with a lid. Shake well to combine. Season with kosher salt and black pepper.
  • Pour dressing over vegetables and toss gently to combine.
  • Top with 1/3 lb feta cheese crumbled or cubed.

Author Notes

If you make Souvlaki and have marinade left over, you can easily use it as a the Souvlaki Marinade as the dressing for Greek Salad. I did, and I thought it was delicious.
