Tip : If you are not serving the eggs immediately, transfer the poached eggs to an ice water bath to stop the cooking. You can refrigerate the poached eggs for a couple of days. When ready to serve, immerse the poached eggs in a bowl filled with boiling water for 20-30 seconds to heat through, then serve.

  • 1 whole egg/person
  • simmering water
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar

Gather all ingredients before starting recipe.

  • Add water to fill a medium sized saucepan half full. Heat over medium high heat until bubbling, then reduce heat to a simmer.
  • Crack one egg at a time into a small ramekin. Continue until you have prepared as many eggs as you will serve, each in its own ramekin.
  • Add 1 tbsp white vinegar to the simmering water and stir to combine. Add one egg from the ramekin at a time, do not crowd make sure that each egg is separate from the others.
  • Set your timer to 3 minutes for a soft runny yolk.
  • Remove each egg with a slotted spoon and serve immediately.
