  • 5-6 medium shallots peeled and finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil


  • Peel and finely chop 5-6 large shallots.
  • Melt 2 tablespoons of butter and a tablespoon of olive oil in a frying pan and add chopped shallots. Cover and cook over medium heat until the shallots become translucent, about 15 minutes. Set aside until the steaks are grilled and are ready to be served.
  • Return cooked shallots to very low heat to warm.
