I have used these Mini Soup Dumplings in lots of different kinds of soups. You can literally add it to any soup that is not a cream soup. They are simple to make and for me, a staple. Just one of those things you learn and use over and over again. Try it in Gulyas Soup, Ragu Soup, Cauliflower Soup, Mushroom Soup, or Hungarian Ham and Navy Bean Soup (Bab Leves) just to name a few.
Tip : If the dough gets a little sticky, just roll it in flour and keep going.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 whole egg
- 1 pinch kosher salt
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Gather ingredients before starting recipe.

- Place 3/4 cup all-purpose flour, 1 whole egg, 1 pinch kosher salt and 1/4 cup water in a mixing bowl and combine using a fork.

- Keep blending and adding a little water at a time until the dough starts to form bigger and bigger crumbles.

- Once it has reached a semi solid state, knead the dough until it holds together.

- Form a ball and reserve until the vegetables are cooked.

- Pinch little snippets from the ball of dough and drop into simmering soup.

This is exactly what I wanted. These dumplings are so good. I put them in a poultry vegetable soup. My husband completely agrees that this is the recipe we will use from now on. And, I love that it’s is SO EASY!!
Hi Tammy, happy to hear that it’s such a win. When a recipe is easy and instantly becomes the new go‑to, you know it’s a keeper. Love that it worked perfectly in your poultry vegetable soup and that your husband’s on board too!
