I’m not sure you can find a more tender, flavorful cut of beef at such a budget‑friendly price. Sirloin Cap Steak is truly melt‑in‑your‑mouth good. I discovered it the usual way; by chatting with the butcher at our grocery store’s meat counter and I’ve been a fan ever since.
For this recipe, I marinated the steak in my All‑Purpose Steak Marinade, then used the pan juices to whip up a quick Peppercorn Sauce. Served with a side of fries, it made an incredibly satisfying meal.

Cap Sirloin Steak isn’t a widely known cut, but it deserves far more attention. Taken from the top of the sirloin, it’s remarkably tender, full of flavor, and surprisingly budget‑friendly. This cut is especially beloved in Brazil, where it’s often grilled to perfection and served simply to let its natural richness shine.
You’ll occasionally spot it in grocery stores that have inhouse butchers, and it’s more reliably found at specialty butcher shops. If you come across it, it’s absolutely worth picking up. Its tenderness and versatility make it a fantastic choice for weeknight cooking as well as more special meals.
