You can serve smoked duck breast as a simple weeknight main course or dress it up for a dinner party, it works beautifully either way. What makes this version especially appealing is how effortless it is. With just three ingredients and about five minutes of prep, you get a dish that tastes far more impressive than the work involved.

Once you score the duck breast, place each piece on a non‑stick, foil‑lined baking sheet. Scatter a handful of mini golden Yukon potatoes around the pan and let everything roast together for 15–20 minutes. The duck turns out perfectly, and the potatoes soak up all those incredible drippings,  so you end up with a complete sheet‑pan dinner that feels both elegant and easy. It’s the kind of meal that proves great cooking doesn’t have to be complicated.

Tip : This dish is made with smoked breast of duck, which is fairly common in most grocery stores. I think it's best if the duck breast is scored and then either glazed, as shown here, or just broiled after the skin has been scored. There is no need to cook the duck as it's fully cooked through the smoking process, but the breast should be heated through before serving.
