I have fun making hors d’oeuvres so I am always on the lookout for ‘hors d’oeuvres material’. This small bite worked extremely well with the Caramelized Onion Jam I made recently.  A nice flavor combination with soft runny brie or a creamy burrata appetizer.

Bacon and Onion Jam on Brie Toasts

Ingredients 

  • 1 recipe Caramelized Onion Jam
  • 1 tbsp softened butter
  • 1 small wheel of brie
  • 12 slices baguette toasted
  • garnish fresh parsley

Instructions

  • Gather all ingredients before starting the recipe.
  • Toast bread slices under your broiler and allow the bread to cool.
  • Thinly spread butter on each slice of toast.
  • Spread buttered toast with soft brie cheese.
  • Top brie with a teaspoonful of onion jam.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley.

Onion Jam is readily available in most stores but is quite easy to make. I used have used both, here are one or two brands you may like.
