Ingredients 

  • 15-20 Bing cherries all pitted
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary stripped from stalk and left whole
  • 2-3 sprigs fresh thyme stripped from stalks, or 1 teaspoon dried
  • 3-4 tbsp very fine olive oil or enough to nearly cover the olives
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

Gather all ingredients before starting recipe

  • Defrost and drain 15-20 Bing cherries all pitted and set aside until ready to combine with dressing. Otherwise, pit fresh cherries.
  • Strip the stems of 2 sprigs fresh rosemary and 2-3 sprigs fresh thyme and 3-4 tbsp very fine olive oil and add to medium mixing bowl.
  • Zest and juice 1 orange and add with 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar to the bowl with the herbs and cherries. Season with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper. Combine well and heat in a microwave safe dish on high for 1 minute.
  • Cover and leave at room temperature for one hour, and up to 5 hours, mixing occasionally to blend the flavors
